Charleston police make arrest in July 31 armed robbery

CHARLESTON, SC (SC) - Charleston police arrested a man who they say held up a woman at knife-point and robbed her.

Michael William Knox, Jr., 29, of Awendaw was arrested Monday and charged with three counts of financial transaction card fraud, two counts of armed robbery and two counts of possession of a weapon during the commissions of a violent crime.

Police allege Knox held up a woman on Cannon Street in the early morning hours of July 31. According to the police report, a man on a bike approached the victim from behind, pulled out a knife and demanded the victim's purse.

Knox made off with a pair of debit cards, $10 in cash and a pack of cigarettes during the robbery, the police report stated.
