FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) -  A Hollywood man is facing charges of DUI and failure to stop for blue lights after he took police on a chase through James Island Friday afternoon, sheriff's office officials said.

Deputies responded to a suspected drunk driver on Folly Beach around 1:30 p.m. Friday. The driver of a red Chevy pick-up truck, later identified as Timothy Braddock, refused to stop for deputies, said officials.

Braddock tried to leave the beach via Folly Road and headed for downtown Charleston. Deputies deployed stop sticks, but Braddock was able to elude the devices.

On his attempted get-away, Braddock struck two vehicles at the intersection of Camp and Folly roads, said deputies. The drivers of the two vehicles and Braddock sustained injuries as a result of the accidents.

All three people were transported to a nearby hospital by EMS, but their conditions have not been released.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. The Charleston County Sheriff's Office has charged Braddock with DUI, his second offense, and failure to stop for blue lights.
