MOUNT PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - Runners, walkers and bikers will have to park a little further away in order to make their way across the Ravenel Bridge.
The Mt. Pleasant town council voted to eliminate parking along a 400-foot stretch Tuesday, citing safety as a concern because pedestrians have to cross on a busy curve and car doors could swing open into traffic.
The vote eliminates 15 parking spaces. The town is encouraging people to park on the other side of Patriots Point Blvd or use the Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park, which costs 50 cents an hour.
