SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) -Summerville Police are looking for Ravela Jant. Jant is wanted on charges of breach of trust more than $5,000.

Investigators say Jant, 39, used a credit card from the Cypress House living assisted facility to buy groceries and other items for herself and her step children.

"She ended up purchasing goods for her own at Publix and not turning in the receipts," said Summerville Police Lt. T. J. Peterson.

Investigators say when the Cypress House did an internal audit they discovered about $6,000 missing from their account.

"She was well, I never got the receipt or the receipt was misplaced and she was hoping that poor bookkeeping would result in her getting away with this, I think," said Peterson.

Police say Jant eventually confessed to the crime, faxing a letter to her boss, saying she misused only about $2,400 and that she desperately needed the money for her and her step kids.

The letter stated Jant offered to make monthly payments of $150 to Cypress House. Police say so far she hasn't repaid any of that money.

"These people are here to help. the just need a little bit of help and you've got somebody taking funds that's gonna help these people," said Peterson. "That's just wrong."

Jant may be hiding in Greenville. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111. You can remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward.
