MONCKS CORNER, SC (WCSC) – Residents in Berkeley County may soon be able to buy alcohol on Sundays.
The county council is expected to vote on approving a November referendum on Sunday beer and wine sales during Monday night's meeting.
Last Monday, a council committee voted 5-1 to send the proposal to full council for final approval.
There will also be a public hearing Monday to weigh in on the issue.
Rural Berkeley County is the only place in the Charleston metro area where stores can't sell beer on Sundays.
Monday's meeting starts at 6 p.m. in the assembly room of the Berkeley County administration building. located at 1003 Highway 52 in Moncks Corner.
