Accidents on Don Holt Bridge, I-26 East halt traffic

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Accidents on the Don Holt Bridge and Interstate 26 eastbound have forced traffic to a halt in those areas Tuesday morning.

Expect long delays on I-526 West on the Don Holt Bridge due to several accidents past Clements Ferry Road. One major accident involving at least six cars on the Don Holt Bridge is causing major delays.

Traffic is also backed up on to Daniel Island Tuesday morning to near the Wando Bridge due to several accidents as reported by emergency crews on scene. East bound lanes are also slow. Be careful in the area of these accidents.

South Carolina Department of Transportation cameras also show a slow crawl on I-26 East in the areas of Highway 52 and Ashley Phosphate Road due to backups from an earlier wreck on I-26 near Eagle Drive. Rivers Avenue and Dorchester Road are also moving slow due to overflow from I-26 traffic.

Take your time and be safe on the roads this morning.
