West Ashley Chinese take-out restaurant robbed

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police are looking for two black men who robbed a Chinese take-out restaurant across from the Shadowmoss community in Charleston Monday night.

According to police, two black men entered the Jade Garden on Bees Ferry Road about 9:45 p.m. Monday and robbed it. Witnesses said one was wearing a full face mask and the other covered his face with a bandana. One of the men had a gun.

The two suspects demanded one of the employees open the cash register and took the approximately $400.

Witnesses said the suspects demanded more money, saying, "Give me more! Where is everything else?" The two men left through the kitchen.

When police arrived, they used K9 units to search for the suspects but did not find them.

The robbery marks the sixth in just a few weeks, but police have not said the robberies are related. The other Chinese restaurants to be robbed are the China Wok on James Island, China Fun in West Ashley, China Chef in Summerville, Pan Garden on Folly Road and Golden China Buffet in Goose Creek.
