JOHNS ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Two Charleston men were arrested and more than $400,000 in drugs, cash and personal property were confiscated after authorities from three policing agencies shut down a cocaine trafficking operation on Johns Island.

Marcus Gibbs of Woodbridge Road and Christopher Brown of Cartwright Drive were arrested and charged with trafficking cocaine.

Investigators seized 12 kilograms of cocaine, valued at $352,000, $14,000 in cash and seized two cars and other property valued at more than $50,000.

Charleston City police ran a year-long investigation before making the arrests. Deputies from Charleston County and agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration assisted with the execution of the search warrants.

Gibbs went through bond court Wednesday afternoon. He was denied bond on two counts of drug trafficking and bond was set at $100,000 on two other charges.

Brown was also denied bond Wednesday on all charges including drug trafficking.
