Dorchester Co. deputies name suspect in July 30 shooting

DORCHESTER COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - Authorities announced Wednesday afternoon they had identified a suspect in the July 30 shooting on Ladson Road.

Dorchester County deputies issued a warrant for Montre Desean Brown of North Charleston for his involvement in the shooting. When captured, he will be charged with attempted murder.

Brown's last known address is on Alabama Drive. Deputies say he is to be considered armed and dangerous.

Witnesses told deputies that three black men were walking along Ladson Road when a van pulled up beside the men.

Words were exchanged, said authorities, and then both parties opened fire on each other. The van sped off toward Dorchester Road.

One of the men walking fell to the ground after being shot twice in the leg. The two men with him fled the scene. The wounded man was transported to the hospital for treatment.
