Boat destroyed after waves crash it into Folly Pier; no one hurt

FOLLY BEACH, SC (WCSC) - A small sail boat's crew is safe and unharmed after their boat slammed into the Folly Pier Thursday afternoon, reported Folly Beach police and a National Weather Service employee.

The 12-foot boat, however, was completely destroyed when it snapped in half. The accident happened as the crew was trying to put the boat in the water, said the NWS spotter.

Police said the crew was fine, but a bit embarrassed over the accident.
