Berkeley County Sheriff Deputies arrest shooting suspect

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - One person is dead after a shooting Saturday morning at a club in rural Berkeley County, authorities said.

Berkeley County Chief Deputy Coroner has identified the victim as 21-year-old Derrick Doyle of St. Stephen.  Doyle was transported to Moncks Corner Medical Center where he died. 

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, an altercation took place around 1 a.m. Saturday and there were reports of shots being fired off Colonel Maham Drive.

Authorities now have 21 year old Abraham Edward Medley in custody as a suspect in the shooting.  Medley is charged with involuntary manslaughter and unlawful carrying of a weapon.  Medley is being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center in Moncks Corner.
