WALTERBORO, SC (WCSC) - A man accused in the 2007 double murder of a Round O mother and her teenage son will be back in court Wednesday.
Solicitor Duffie Stone said Tuesday that Denver Simmons will be in court Wednesday for a "significant" hearing, but he has not said what he expects to happen.
The Colleton County sheriff's office says Simmons confessed to killing Sheila Faye Dodd and her 13-year-old son William Dodd.
Stone says Simmons shot and murdered Dodd while her son was at school. Then, according to Stone, Simmons picked William Dodd up from Colleton County Middle School, took him home and shot and killed him.
The two disappeared in May 2007 and were missing for almost a week before Simmons was arrested. Their bodies were found burned and buried not far from their Round O home.
