Rock Hill man charged on drug, gun violations

COLUMBIA,  SC (WCSC) - A Rock Hill man Wednesday was charged in federal court on firearm and drug charges, said US attorney Bill Nettles.

Tymon James Wells, 32, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession with intent to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine, and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

The firearm charges carry maximum sentences of a $250,000 fine and 10 years in prison for each offense. The drug charge carries a maximum sentence of $1 million in fines and a 20 year prison term.

Nettles said the case was investigated by the ATF.
