WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested two people and charged them with the Aug. 31 armed robbery on Ashley Hall Plantation Road.
James Westpoint, 27, was charged with two counts of armed robbery and possession of a weapon during the commission of violent crime. Nikita Jermaine Jackson, 29, was charged with three counts of armed robbery.
According to the police report, Westpoint allegedly approached two of the victims with a black handgun as they exited their vehicle at an Ashley Hall Plantation Road apartment complex. The driver turned over his wallet, keys and cell phone as Westpoint allegedly demanded.
At the same time, the report stated, Jacksom allegedly approached the passenger side of the truck, pointed a silver handgun at the passenger and demanded his possessions. That victim also gave up his wallet, keys and cell phone.
When the third victim exited his apartment, a third suspect approached him from behind and pointed a black handgun at the victim's head. The victim handed over his wallet, keys and cell phone, the report stated..
After the robbery, the three suspects escorted the victims to the rear of one of the apartment buildings and told them not to move. The three then fled the scene, the report stated.
Westpoint and Jackson are being held in the Charleston County Detention Center.
The third suspect has not been identified.
