Family of 5 homeless after house fire

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) – A Goose Creek family of five is now homeless after their house was destroyed by fire earlier this afternoon.

The American Red Cross says one adult and four children were affected by that fire.

The Red Cross has provided that family with temporary shelter and financial assistance to help replace food and clothing that was lost in the fire.

The family was also provided with referrals to assist the them in their long term recovery.

So far this year the Red Cross has helped 796 people needing aid due to home fires in its seven county regions of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton, and Jasper Counties.
