NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - North Charleston Police are investigating an early morning shooting that occurred near the intersection of Spruill and McMillan avenues on Monday.
According to police, officers arrived on the scene around 2 a.m. in reference to gun shots and found one person injured on Spruill Avenue. Officers located the 39-year-old victim near Verde Street where he was staying.
The victim al ledges that while he was walking on Spruill Avenue, he was approached by two black male teenagers that were wearing all black clothing. The teens asked for a cigarette, which the victim provided them. He then claimed one of the suspects fired a shot. The victim then fled and made contact with an unknown subject who called 911 to report the shooting.
The victim was transported to MUSC. No word has been released on the victim's condition.
Officers searched the area for both a crime scene as well as suspects and have been unable to find either.
The incident remains under investigation.
