3 students taken to hospital after car hits school bus in Hollywood

HOLLYWOOD, SC (WCSC) - Three high school students were taken to the hospital after their car collided with a school bus Tuesday afternoon.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office says the bus was hit by a car while stopped at Highway 162 and Chapel Road in Hollywood around 2:30 p.m. According to the sheriff's office, the car was pushed into the bus after being rear-ended by another car.

The bus was carrying students from Baptist Hill High School at the time of the accident. Three of the students were transported by EMS to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. They are and expected to be okay. The students injured are ages 15, 17 and 18 and all are from the Hollywood area.

The 17-year-old driver who caused the accident, was driving a 2000 Chevy cavalier and is being charged with driving too fast for conditions.
