Man arrested in connection with Ladson Road shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - A man wanted for a July 30 shooting on Ladson Road was arrested Tuesday night.

The Dorchester County Sheriff's Office said that 19-year-old Montre Desean Brown was arrested by North Charleston police Tuesday night.

Officers found Brown at a North Charleston apartment. Police also found a loaded gun in a closet. The gun was reported stolen from Alabama.

The sheriff's office had issued warrants for Brown's arrest in connection with a July 30 shooting in which multiple individuals began firing handguns across Ladson Road at the driver of a minivan stopped in the median.

According to the sheriff's office, the driver returned fire with a handgun and Brown was shot during the exchange of gun fire. Additionally, the sheriff's office said that a 76-year-old female, who happened to be driving in that area, was also struck by a bullet.

The sheriff's office plans on charging Brown with attempted murder.
