Armed robbers strike again, hit Summerville Asian restaurant

SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Another Asian restaurant was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday night, according to Summerville police.

Police say the Dragon House at 975 Bacons Bridge Rd. became the ninth Asian restaurant robbed in the last few weeks. According to police, the robberies may have been committed by the same suspects.

Store employees told police that two black males, wearing all black and black pantyhose over their faces, entered the businesses through the back door, which was shut, but not locked, around 10:15 p.m.

A store employee said that the first suspect entered the restaurant and pointed a silver semi-automatic pistol at his stomach. According to police, the suspect then continued toward the counter and approached the clerk, pointing the gun at her head and demanded, "Give me all the money now."

According to police, after the clerk gave the first suspect the cash from the register, he pushed her to the ground and told her to bend down. The clerk told police that the suspect's voice sounded high pitched and she got the impression he was young.

Police said that while the first suspect was at the counter, the second suspect held a black semi-automatic handgun to the other store employee's chest. The second suspect took that employee's wallet and removed $220 before throwing the empty wallet back to the employee.

Both suspects ran towards the back door after taking the money.

The store employees described the second suspect as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 140 pounds.
