Study leader pinpoints areas which will gain most from Boeing

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) - CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The man at the forefront of a study gauging Boeing's economic impact, Harry Miley, told the Charleston Regional Business Journal the Moncks Corner and Summerville areas will see the most residential and retail growth from the project.

According to the Miley & Associates study when Boeing opens its doors it will employ nearly 4,000 people and create more than 11,000 spin-off jobs.

Three housing developments were already underway in Berkeley County before the Boeing announcement was made according to Berkeley County Planning and Zoning Administrator Eric Greenway.

Greenway added he expects further residential and retail growth in addition to these developments within the next three to seven years as a direct result of the Boeing operation.
