SUMMERVILLE, SC (WCSC) - Four adults and seven dogs survived a house fire in Summerville early Tuesday morning.
The Lowcountry Chapter of the American Red Cross was called to assist four adults in a fire that occurred in a home at 235 Forest Circle in the South Main Mobile Home Park in Summerville.
Red Cross volunteers provided the family with comfort kits filled with emergency supplies and financial assistance to help replace the food lost in the fire. Temporary shelter was also provided. Red Cross mental heath services have been offered the family and are on standby.
The Red Cross has assisted 845 individuals needing aid due to home fires in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper Counties since Jan. 1 and 267 residential fire victims since July 1.
