1 wounded, 1 in custody after North Charleston Walmart shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – Police have arrested a man involved in a North Charleston shooting that happened at the Walmart on Rivers Avenue.

According to Spencer Pryor, the information officer for the police, two men had an argument in the parking lot when one pulled out a gun and shot the other in the left hand. The victim identified the suspect as George Sherrod of Goose Creek.

Pryor said the suspect then fled the scene in an SUV. Scanner traffic identified it as a red Dodge Durango.

The victim was transported to Trident Hospital for treatment, Pryor said.

Sherrod was arrested after a short chase involving deputies from Berkeley and Charleston counties.
