GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Goose Creek Police Captain John Grainger graduated from the FBI's National Academy on September 17.  Captain Grainger studied leadership and management topics and underwent physical training alongside 271 other students from 49 states and 27 countries.

Grainger was one of only four officers from South Carolina chosen to take part in the studies.  As one of four Goose Creek officers to have attended the academy, Captain Grainger follows in the footsteps of retired Chief of Police Richard Ruonala, current Chief of Police Harvey Becker, and retired Lieutenant Danny Johnson.

The courses Captain Grainger took were accredited by the University of Virginia and totaled twelve hours of graduate-level study and five credit hours of undergraduate-level study.  Grainger looks forward to applying the lessons learned to Goose Creek Police Department operations in an effort to serve Goose Creek citizens better.
