NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The Senate Judiciary Special Subcommittee on Charitable Raffles will hold a public hearing in the Charleston region on Sept. 30 in the North Charleston City Council Chambers from 6-8 p.m.
The public is invited to comment on the issue to lawmakers. At issue is whether state laws should be changed to allow charitable organizations to hold raffles to raise money for their causes.
Those wishing to speak will be asked to sign up before the meeting. Speakers will be called in the order they sign up.
Written testimony will also be accepted, but five copies will need to be provided.
