COLLETON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – One man was arrested and charged Sunday with attempted murder in connection to a Sept. 28 shooting on Brittle Bank Road.
Quashon Middleton was charged with two counts of attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Middleton is accused of shooting into a vehicle as it was stopped waiting on a school bus to unload several elementary school children, said Sheriff George Malone.
Driving by on a moped, Middleton fired several shots into the stopped car. The driver of the car, trying to avoid more gunshots, sped off and struck Middleton, Malone said. Neither of the two people in the car was injured in the shooting, but Middleton had to be transported to the hospital for his injuries.
Middleton was transported to the Colleton County Detention Center after he was released from the hospital.
His bond was denied in bond court Sunday, Malone said.
