GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina state police are investigating automated phone calls comparing one female Democratic statehouse candidate to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Another candidate says she's also being targeted.
The Greenville News reported Friday that District 26 candidate Judy Gilstrap says she received a call that mentioned Pelosi's recent visit to Charleston and asked if the person on the line thought Gilstrap would ask Pelosi to campaign for her.
Pelosi visited Charleston last weekend to speak at an NAACP fundraiser.
The State Law Enforcement Division says it's investigating similar calls state Rep. Anne Peterson Hutto says went to voters in her district near Charleston.
Gilstrap says she hopes SLED will include her race in the investigation.
