James Island burglary suspect in custody

JAMES ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - A suspect in a robbery on James Island is in custody as the result of a joint investigation by the Charleston Police Department and the Charleston County Sheriff's Office.

Brandon Tyrene Johnson, 23, is behind bars for his involvement in a Kentwood Circle theft.

Johnson is accused of taking a computer, video game system, a safe, firearms, and a GPS system from a residence on September 12.  The theft is one of a rash of robberies on James Island in the past two months.  The stolen items were found at a residence where Johnson was staying.

Johnson is charged with property crime enhancement and is being held at the Charleston County Detention Center.
