Police: Pregnant woman stabs baby's father with steak knife

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are searching for a woman who they say was angry enough with her unborn child's father to allegedly stab him with a steak knife.

The incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. Sunday night at a Dorchester Road lounge.

According to the police report, witnesses told police a woman stormed into the Domino Lounge and began arguing with the victim. She left and returned a few minutes later, this time wielding a steak knife.

The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jessica Ann Scott of Summerville, thrust the knife into the victim's stomach and snapped off the blade, the report stated.

Witnesses told police during the argument, Scott told the victim she was 7 months pregnant with his child. Those same witnesses also told police the victim and suspect were living together.

When police checked the victim's North Charleston home, they were unable to locate Scott, the report stated.

The victim was transported to the Medical University hospital for treatment. Police have not provided an update on his condition nor have they located Scott.
