NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Goose Creek Police Officer Robert Edwards was shot while responding to a domestic dispute on July 19. Edwards' recovery has kept him out of work since the shooting, and his wife, Gretchen, has taken a leave of absence to care for Roberts leaving the family in tough financial straits.
KC Mulligan's and family friends will throw a fundraiser to help the Edwards family offset mounting bills. Six bands will provide music, a raffle with many donated prizes will be held, and plenty of food will be available. Edwards' wife will attend, and if he is up to it, hopefully Officer Edwards will be there as well.
The event takes place on Saturday, October 9 starting at 1 p.m. KC Mulligan's is located at 8410 Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. Call (843) 574-9400 for more information. Donations may also be brought or mailed to the restaurant.
