Charleston getting $6 million public transportation grant

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - Charleston's public transit agency is getting a $6 million federal grant to link its various modes of transportation.

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham announced the grant to the Charleston Area Regional Transportation Authority in a news release issued Monday.

The money will be used for construction of a single facility connecting Amtrak trains with local and regional bus lines as well as taxis and rental cars.
