BLYTHEWOOD, SC (WCSC) - The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles announced Thursday it is offering breast cancer awareness license plates to drivers.
The fee for the new plate will be $70 plus the regular registration fees. Proceeds from the sale of the new plates will be split evenly between the SC Department of Health and Environmental control and the American Cancer Society. DHEC will use the money to fund screening for women across the state, and the American Cancer Society will use its share for quality of life programs for survivors and caregivers.
The plates are currently available at SCDMV offices and through the mail. There are no special requirements for obtaining the plates.
