COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - South Carolina guard Ramon Galloway will miss from four to six weeks after fracturing his right foot.
Galloway is a 6-foot-1 sophomore who was expected to compete for a starting spot in the backcourt with the departure of former Gamecocks Devan Downey and Brandis Raley-Ross. South Carolina basketball coach Darrin Horn says Galloway's injury Saturday was not basketball-related.
Horn said he'd speak more about Galloway's injury Thursday during his media day.
Galloway played 31 games and made six starts last season. He averaged nearly eight points a game off the bench and was third on the team with 39 3-pointers.
South Carolina opens basketball practice Friday. The Gamecocks start the season against Elon on Nov. 12.
