Police release sketch of Wendy's armed robbery suspect

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) - Charleston police are looking for a man suspected of robbing a Wendy's fast food restaurant last Saturday. Police released a sketch of the suspect Tuesday.

According to police, officers responded to the Wendy's located at 1721 Sam Rittenberg Blvd. around 2 p.m. Saturday in reference to an armed robbery. According to a store employee, a white male entered the restaurant wearing an orange hoodie with glasses on his face.

Victims told police that when he approached the cash register he told the woman behind the register that she knew what to do, while he brandished a knife like box cutter, and told her to give him all the money.

The victim told police that she started to back up from the register and at that point the suspect knew he wasn't going to get any money so he fled on foot and ran behind the business.

The suspect is described as being about 30-35 years old, 6-feet tall, with reddish blonde facial hair, a slight mustache and goatee and he was wearing a bright orange hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes.

Anyone with information about this suspect can call Charleston Police at 577-7434 or Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
