Car alarm leads Goose Creek police to drug bust

GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - A car alarm led to a drug arrest in Goose Creek last weekend.

According to Goose Creek police, the alarm on a car parked on Redbank Road, across the street from Skyy Bar, started going off. When officers who heard the alarm approached the purple Jeep Cherokee they smelled marijuana and saw a blunt in the ashtray.

Police then entered the Skyy Bar and asked for an announcement about the car alarm. Police said that the owner came out and admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that day.

After a drug dog sniffed the car, police say they found 26 grams of marijuana in the center console.

As a result, Goose Creek police arrested 21-year-old Melvin Meadows. Meadows is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
