The Spirit of South Carolina will visit Georgetown, South Carolina from Friday, October 22 through the morning of Wednesday, October 27. During this visit, the 140-foot tall ship will dock at the Georgetown Landing Marina. While in Georgetown, the Spirit of South Carolina will provide students from McDonald Elementary School with educational programming, host Open Ships, and is offering Adult Education Sails.
The Open Ships are free events for the general public to tour the deck, get pictures of themselves aboard, and meet the ship's professional crew. They are scheduled on Saturday, October 23rd from 1-4 p.m. and on Sunday, October 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Adult Education Sails are scheduled for Monday, October 25 and Tuesday, October 26, each from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Spaces aboard these sails are limited and spots must be reserved before the sail. Tickets cost $50 for South Carolina Maritime Foundation members and $65 for non-members.
