COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - The University of South Carolina is calling all pint-sized poets to an on-campus festival.
The university is holding the 2010 Palmetto Children's Poetry Festival Saturday at Thomas Cooper Library.
Organizers say acclaimed authors featured at the daylong event are encouraging children and parents alike to get involved in writing poetry of their own.
There are other performances including poetry readings and open microphone sessions. The university's Split P poets group is also leading poetry workshops for teens and kids.
