Charleston, SC (WCSC) – Joint Base Charleston is scheduled to receive a new C-17 Globemaster III Saturday afternoon.
The aircraft will be flown from Long Beach, California by Major General Martin Mazick, vice commander of the Air Force Reserve Command, along with reservists from the 315th Airlift Wing.
The C-17 Globemaster will be capable of delivering troops and all kinds of cargo faster around the world. The aircraft will be able to perform tactical airlift and airdrop missions as well as transport many patients during medical evacuation missions.
This new delivery to Joint Base Charleston will bring the number of C-17's to 57.
