COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Republican Nikki Haley and Democrat Vincent Sheheen are preparing for their second debate as they seek to become South Carolina's next governor.
Sheheen and Haley were set for a debate to be broadcast live, statewide at 7 p.m. Monday at South Carolina Educational Television in Columbia.
It's the next-to-last debate before the Nov. 2 voting. They meet again Tuesday at Francis Marion University in Florence. The first debate was last week in Spartanburg.
A Winthrop University poll released earlier this month showed Haley holding a 46% to 37% lead among likely voters.
Furman University political scientist Danielle Vinson says Monday's debate in the ETV studios might be more muted than last week's event in front of an audience.
