1 dead after early morning motorcycle wreck on I-26

CHARLESTON COUNTY, SC (WCSC) – One person was killed after a motorcycle accident early Monday morning on Interstate 26 in Charleston County.

The Charleston County Coroner identified the victim as 31-year-old Quintin Wright of Goose Creek. According to the coroner's office, Wright was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 1:30 a.m. near mile marker 205 on I-26, which is near University Boulevard.

Troopers say the accident occurred in the westbound lane and the road was cleared several hours later.
