Couple wins $15,000 ring during Diamond Dash in downtown Charleston

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) – More than 300 couples and teams competed across downtown Charleston Sunday afternoon to win a $15,000 Tacori diamond ring.

Polly's Diamond Dash began in Marion Square where teams were given clues, locations and challenges during a city-wide high-tech treasure hunt to win a diamond ring from Polly's Jewelry.

Locations, clues and challenges were delivered to participants via iPhone or Android application or by text message. The competition sent participants all over downtown Charleston before the winning team was announced back at Marion Square.

The winning couple was Kaitlyn and Preston Forshee. Kaitlin is a student at MUSC Dental School and Preston is a student at Charleston School of Law.

The couple said on their registration form that they live on a tight student budget and would love to compete for a chance to win a beautiful piece of jewelry that they otherwise wouldn't be able to dream of. According to Preston's Facebook page, the couple is already married.
