MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (AP) - The administrator for the town of Mount Pleasant has been named the new executive director of the Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports Mac Burdette begins work next month at the helm of the attraction on Charleston Harbor that features the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown.
Burdette begins his new job a week after he retires as town administrator, a post he has held for 25 years. Burdette is also a retired Army colonel.
Patriots Point is working on a master plan and also is working to repay a $9 million loan for ship repairs.
