Police catch car theft suspect on Daniel Island

DANIEL ISLAND, SC (WCSC) - Police arrested a car break-in suspect just blocks from where Daniel Island residents said they saw a man trying to gain access to cars.

Sean Michael Oneal, 21, was arrested and charged with theft from a motor vehicle.

According to the police report, residents on Daniel Ellis Drive spotted a white man trying to open parked cars. One resident said the suspect had moved to the front of the condo complex. Police officers located the man and he consented to a search, the report stated.

Officers found a Samsung cell phone, two types of cologne, an iPod, two GPS units and a charger, and a Blackberry smart phone.

Oneal was arrested and transported to the Charleston County Detention Center.
