CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Four cruise ships will make calls in Charleston from Friday through Monday, making for a busy weekend at the passenger terminal in Downtown Charleston.
The Fantasy will make a turnaround call on Saturday, October 30 that will necessitate street closures in the area. A portion of Concord Street will be closed from north of Market Street to the intersection south of Hasell Street on Washington Street. During the embarkation, for access to and from areas just north of Union Pier Terminal, drivers are encouraged to use Calhoun and Laurens streets.
That call is in addition to a visit Friday from the Aida Luna which brought 2,100 passengers to Charleston, and a call scheduled for Sunday by the Celebrity Mercury, which is expected to bring nearly 1,900 visitors to town. Neither of those calls will need street closures.
The State Ports Authority announced Friday that the Carnival Glory will be in port on Monday, November 1. The ship will take on passengers, and the same street closures for the Fantasy visit will be in effect.
