Charleston man arrested in stabbing and high speed chase

WEST ASHLEY, SC (WCSC) – North Charleston Police responded to a possible stabbing at the Family Dollar on Rivers Avenue which led police on a high speed chase Friday afternoon that ended in West Ashley.

According to North Charleston Police Information Officer Spencer Pryor, a fight between two men broke out at Family Dollar. Once officers arrived on scene, they saw a car speeding out of the parking lot.

Officers attempted a traffic stop, Pryor said, but the driver 41-year-old Tony Odell Jackson of Charleston refused to stop. Jackson struck a fence on Savage Road in West Ashley, which gave officers the chance to take him into custody.

Investigators say Friday evening a male victim showed up at MUSC with a non-life threatening knife wound.

Jackson bond was set at 100-thousand dollar for assault and battery with intent to kill and 10-thousand dollars for failure to stop for a blue light.
