Governor's race steals attention, but several other key races also on ballot

CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - The governor's race is getting the most attention, but voters will decide six statewide races Tuesday.

Besides governor, voters will choose a lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general, comptroller general, state superintendent of education and commissioner of agriculture.

Two other state races, treasurer and adjutant general, are unopposed. Major General Bob Livingston is the only candidate for adjutant general. The adjutant general oversees the 11,000-member military department of South Carolina, which includes the Army National Guard, the Air National Guard, the State Guard and the state's Emergency Management Division.

Businessman Curtis Loftis is the only name that will appear on the ballot for treasurer. The state treasurer's office is responsible for investing and managing the state's money and debt.
