GOOSE CREEK, SC (WCSC) - Fire officials in Goose Creek are investigating a string of suspicious house fires that broke out in the same neighborhood Sunday morning, the fire chief confirmed.
According to a report from the Post and Courier, all three houses, located off Red Bank Road, had been vacant for more than a year.
Fire fighters were responding to a brush fire shortly before 3 a.m. when they spotted a house fire down the street, Chief Michael Haines told the Post and Courier. The roof of the 171 Giles Drive home was fully involved and the house was ultimately destroyed.
A few minutes after 3 a.m., they responded to a fire at 182 Giles Drive and were also dispatched to several other brush fires, the report stated.
The, 30 minutes later, firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 134 Weeks Ave., the Post and Courier reported.
The second two fires were contained to single rooms, the report stated. The State Law Enforcement Division's arson unit was called in to investigate.
