HANAHAN, SC (WCSC) - Two people are running against incumbent Minnie Blackwell in Tuesday's election to become mayor of Hanahan.
Blackwell, a science teacher at Allston Middle School, is running for a third term. Blackwell has been mayor since 2002.
Tim Baker, an engineer, who has served on Hanahan's city council since 1998 is also campaigning for the mayor's office. Baker and Blackwell are running against Levy Berry, a retired public works engineer, who served on the council for eight years, two as mayor pro-tem.
Being Hanahan mayor is a part time job that pays $7,200 a year.
