PORT ROYAL, S.C. (AP) - A South Carolina town is considering new rules for gas stations that might make them less convenient for drivers needing fuel but more attractive for those driving by.
The Beaufort Gazette reports that Port Royal is considering design rules for new stations.
1 of the big changes is that gasoline pumps could not be located in front of the gas station. They would have to be located behind the building or, at least on the side.
The rules to be considered by town council next week would also regulate canopies over the pumps, signs and lighting.
