Power work will force traffic flow changes on Coleman Blvd.

MT. PLEASANT, SC (WCSC) - South Carolina Electric & Gas Company will begin upgrading an existing electrical line along Coleman Boulevard from Patriots Point Boulevard to Lansing Drive starting November 8 and continuing for the next four to six months.

This upgrade is needed to increase the reliability of one of the main electrical lines that feeds into the Mt. Pleasant area.  Currently, wooden poles support the existing line along Coleman Boulevard.  The new line will have fewer poles, but the new poles will be made of steel.

Due to the size of the equipment needed for this operation, traffic flow will be affected in this area.  One lane will be closed for a certain amount of time for each pole location.

In order to help traffic flow smoothly during morning and afternoon rush hours, most of the work will be done weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and some weekends.
