1 man wounded, another sought in North Charleston stabbing

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC (WCSC) - Police are searching for an Hispanic man accused of stabbing another person at a North Charleston bar.

According to a police report, officers arrived at the Market Street Saloon Smokehouse on Northwoods Boulevard in North Charleston after patrons had transported the victim to the Roper Northwoods ER.

Staff members told police the victim and the suspect had an altercation inside the bar, but the fight moved outside before the suspect pulled a knife, the report stated. The suspect fled on foot toward Northwoods Boulevard.

The victim had been stabbed several times in his stomach, and in his shoulder, neck, arm and palm, the report stated. He was transported to the Medical University Hospital where he was further stabilized.

The suspect, when caught, will be charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.
